LANSING, MI — On Michigan Avenue in downtown Lansing, something magical happens every year centered around the Silver Bells in the City celebration. A local artist is using her studio space and talent to create one-of-a-kind ornaments for only a few to cherish.

Making touchable art is in artist Tiffany Marie Luke’s blood — her dad is the guy responsible for crafting a well-known figure.

Between the installation of Lansing’s beloved ornaments in the traffic circle, the glow and excitement of Silver Bells in the City, and cheerful storefront décor, it’s hard not to feel a little bit of the holiday spirit around us. It’s also an incredibly busy time for our merchants — and for all of us — as we move through the hustle and bustle of gift buying, family gatherings, business holiday parties, and more.

This holiday season, skip the ordinary and give a gift that truly stands out: one that celebrates local businesses and experiences right here in Downtown Lansing. Whether you’re shopping for the history buff, the book lover, the plant enthusiast, or the young artist in your life, Downtown Lansing has something creative for everyone on your list.

As a volunteer-led organization, we are thankful for those who contribute their time, expertise, and passion to Downtown Lansing Inc. activities and programs. As we close out this calendar year, we’d like to feature a group of volunteers who spent the past 5-6 months brainstorming ideas, planning the entertainment and event layout, reaching out to donors, and promoting the 2nd annual Big Red Ball fundraising gala.
