LANSING, Mich. — As the holiday season ramps up, The Peanut Shop — a longstanding downtown Lansing staple — is encouraging shoppers to “give the gift of nuts” this year. On the December 2, 2025 episode of The Morning Blend, co-owner Adam Seyburn shared how the shop offers a ready-made way to delight friends, family, and coworkers.

As downtown Lansing prepares for the holidays, small businesses like Summit Comics and Games are finding ways to stand out against major retailers.

Marcus Embry, interim manager at Summit Comics and Games, said the local shop sells comic books, board games and action figures. While big box stores offer holiday deals, he believes small businesses have a competitive advantage.
