From early-morning coffee to late-night bites, here’s a list of Saturday dining spots in Downtown Lansing to make your weekend culinary adventure unforgettable.

Through the Michigan Main Street Vibrancy grant, 9 Michigan cities were awarded funding for mini makeovers and Downtown Lansing was one of them. Nubian, Sylvia’s Sudsery, Sweet Encounter Bakery and Café, and Summit Comics and Games were the local businesses chosen to complete small beautification projects within their storefronts

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Lansing Shuffle is the perfect hotspot this summer from their food, to drinks, games, events and so much more.

They have seven amazing restaurants and two bars that feature fruity cocktails and boozy milkshakes.

They are steps from the Lansing Lugnuts and part of the social district where you can walk along the river.

Nandi Comer, Michigan’s poet laureate, is stopping in downtown Lansing to host a free poetry workshop and reading.

Comer was appointed last April, becoming Michigan’s first poet laureate since 1959 and the second in the state’s history. She said it is crucial for the state to invest in the arts through establishing mentorships and supporting training programs for emerging artists.

“This weekend’s workshop will really concentrate on the things that we love that we tend to forget to celebrate,” Comer told WKAR.

Cap City Breaking Jam is an annual Breaking competition hosted by All of the Above Hip Hop Academy and local Breaking Crew, 99 Stylez. This free-to-the-public event showcases dancers of all ages in a Youth 1v1 and Adult 2v2 tournament-style competition. Cap City Breaking Jam brings competitors and spectators from all over the country to our city, Lansing MI, and has become an anticipated summer competition.

• Lansing Lugnuts Independence Day Celebration at Jackson Field: July 3 at 7:05 p.m.
• Delta Township Independence Day Celebration at Sharp Park: July 3 at 8 p.m.
• Fourth of July Celebration Parade in Downtown Lansing: July 4 at 11 a.m.
• Fourth of July Celebration Concert and Fireworks at Adado Riverfront Park: July 4 at 8 p.m.

This Saturday and Sunday Lansing will host the inaugural Lansing Fiesta at the Adado Riverfront Park!

The founders of Lansing Fiesta, Daniel Ferreyra and Tony Alvarez sat down with Studio 10 to discuss what inspired this celebration.

They hope the event brings families, friends and the community together and hope to encourage new connections within the community!

There will be over 10 different vendors that include Mexican foods, bbq foods, shaved ice, ice cream, margaritas and much more.
