LANSING — Paul Gentilozzi parked his vehicle on South Washington Square in front of the Atrium Building on a recent Monday, making his way through the inside of the restored, century-old former theater his company owns.

Donning a hard hat, he exited at the back of the Atrium and walked through a large gate into the bustling construction site for Tower on Grand.

Lansing plans to run pilot of free 15-minute street parking

The city of Lansing plans to run a test of free 15-minute street parking later this year.

The test could begin by the time the city’s new fiscal year starts in July.

City Council President Peter Spadafore said the city’s contract with its parking meter vendor must be amended before the city can begin offering the free parking.

Since then, the movement has spread across the United States, and the month of June has been deemed and observed as LGBTQ+ Pride Month for decades. Over 150 artists gather for the third annual Tattoo City Lansing Convention

The third annual Tattoo City Lansing Convention brought more than 150 tattoo artists from around the world to the Lansing Center over the weekend.

The event gave attendees a chance to see different styles and get inked on site. Kodi Klocinski traveled from his shop in Toledo to participate in the convention for the third year.

Third annual Cinco de Mayo celebration draws neighbors to the Lansing Shuffle

Music, dancing and food filled the Lansing Shuffle Sunday as neighbors gathered for the third annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration.

The event brought people from across the area together to honor Mexican heritage and culture.

Jake Trevino said the gathering serves a deeper purpose. “Really, the purpose is just to celebrate Mexican culture and keep the Trejano scene alive in Lansing, Michigan,” Trevino said.
