Pride flag raised at Lansing City Hall: ‘We stand with you’

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The city of Lansing celebrated the start of Pride Month Monday with a flag raising ceremony.

Local leaders gathered Monday afternoon to celebrate raising of the intersex-inclusive progress Pride flag above Lansing City Hall. Lansing Mayor Andy Schor said putting the rainbow flag up is “tremendously important.”

Babe’s Corner reels in shrimp and lobster rolls

It’s hard to find a good lobster roll in the area. The few restaurants that serve them only do so for a limited time. One of these places is Babe’s Corner, which recently moved into the downtown Strange Matter Coffee. In an area where there’s a sandwich shop on almost every corner, Babe’s new summer menu brings a taste of the coast to patrons seeking more than just your average hoagie.

Lansing Housing Commission celebrates completion of new downtown developments

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Lansing Housing Commission will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday to celebrate the completion of two major housing developments in downtown Lansing.

Combined, the projects add more than 100 apartments to the city, including dozens designated as affordable housing. They are the first new housing developments built by the commission in more than 20 years.

New arts, media center opens in downtown Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Lansing’s new Public Media Center and Ovation Center opened Friday in downtown Lansing.

The center is located on South Washington Avenue near the intersection of Lenawee Street.

Officials say the facility will serve as a gathering space for artists, musicians, students and music lovers in the community.

Grand Concert Series returns to downtown Lansing this summer

LANSING, Mich. - Live music will return to downtown Lansing this summer as the 2026 Grand Concert Series gets underway.

The free, family-friendly concert series will feature a lineup of musical acts on select Thursday evenings from June through August.

All concerts will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lansing Center’s Riverfront Plaza.
