January Volunteers of the Month: Big Red Ball Ambassadors

Autumn and the Senator

Downtown Lansing Inc. is proud to recognize former U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow and local restaurateur Autumn Weston as our January Volunteers of the Month for their outstanding service as Big Red Ball ambassadors. Their leadership and dedication helped make this year’s Big Red Ball a meaningful celebration of Michigan’s Downtown.

Senator Stabenow has a long and deep connection to Lansing and the Greater Lansing region. Before serving in the U.S. Senate, she represented Lansing in the Michigan Legislature and Ingham County on the Board of Commissioners, where she became the first woman to chair the board. Throughout her career, she has been a strong advocate for Michigan’s cities, small businesses, and community-driven economic development. Her support of the Big Red Ball reflects her ongoing commitment to Lansing and its downtown.

Autumn Weston, a respected downtown business owner, brought her passion for Lansing’s food scene and entrepreneurial community to her role as an ambassador. Through her advocacy and engagement, she helped highlight Downtown Lansing as a vibrant destination and encouraged community members to come together in support of local businesses. Weston’s Kewpee Burger has served the community for over 100 years, and we know it will continue to do so under Autumn’s leadership.

Downtown Lansing Inc. is grateful to both ambassadors for their time, leadership, and dedication. Their volunteerism embodies the spirit of collaboration and civic pride that makes events like the Big Red Ball thrive.
