Egg-Stravaganza, Reimagined

Reimagined

It’s often said that the strength of a community is reflected in how its members come together around a shared purpose, and this past month, that spirit was clearly on display.

Due to inclement weather, our long-anticipated Downtown Egg-Stravaganza required a change of plans. Downtown merchants welcomed event attendees inside their stores and restaurants, greeting families with treats and other spring-themed giveaways.

What was originally scheduled as an outdoor Easter egg hunt on the Capitol Lawn was reimagined as an indoor egg walk and candy giveaway. As our partners at Grewal Hall opened their doors and allowed us to continue the celebration in a welcoming downtown space. Thanks to their generosity, we were still able to host thousands of attendees, despite the rainy weather. Families enjoyed a festive morning and afternoon filled with candy giveaways, an impromptu egg hunt, and memorable photos with Mr. Hopper, the Easter Bunny. Our friend, Metro Melik, helped keep the energy high, providing music that added to the joyful atmosphere throughout the event.

This event would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers. From preparing more than 11,000 eggs in advance to adapting quickly on the day of the event, their efforts ensured we could deliver a meaningful experience for our neighbors.

Finally, thank you to the many families who joined us despite the rain. We are proud to host free, family-friendly events like this throughout the year — for you and for our entire community.

Downtown is, and always will be, for everyone.
