LANSING - Sweet Encounter Bakery & Cafe will close its downtown Lansing storefront inside the historic Knapp’s Centre next month.
The business will still operate out of the space at 300 S. Washington Square, but it will switch to an e-commerce model serving customers who place online orders rather than visit the bakery, owner Nikki Thompson Frazier said.
Sweet Encounter’s last day of storefront operation will be Aug. 2, she said. The bakery first opened inside the Knapp’s Centre in February 2022 and became known for its made-from-scratch gluten-free, soy-free, peanut-free and vegan desserts.
