LANSING - The Gillespie Group has an agreement in place to purchase six buildings near the Jackson Field minor league ballpark in the 600 block of East Michigan Avenue, Pat Gillespie, its founder and CEO, said.

The purchase would further modernize one of the last remaining areas of the Stadium District that hasn’t been redeveloped.

The properties, at 603, 605, 607, 609, 611 and 613 East Michigan Ave., are all over a century old and adjacent to one another. Owned by the City Rescue Mission of Lansing, four of the buildings have housed the private faith-based organization’s men’s shelter for decades, but won’t for much longer.
