Downtown Lansing Inc. connects businesses, creatives, residents, and leaders to build a more vibrant and thriving future for Michigan’s Downtown. As a volunteer-led organization, the people and places that contribute their time and talents as Downtown Lansing volunteers are vital to make our ongoing projects and programming a reality in Michigan’s Downtown.
Volunteers provide essential capacity for events, foster community pride, add to the beautification of Downtown Lansing, and provide organizational leadership, transforming Downtown into a welcoming and inviting place.
If you’re interested in joining us in this important work, we’d love to have you join us in any of the following ways:
- Join an Event/Project Planning Team for one-time events or projects such as the Downtown Egg-Stravaganza, Trick-or-Treat on the Square, volunteer appreciation events, and more! We have a need for more planning team volunteers to help with the following upcoming projects:
- Evening of Excellence volunteer & business appreciation event
- Trick-or-Treat on the Square
- Adopt-a-Spot beautification program
- Legendary Women of Lansing & art installations
- Downtown Egg-Stravaganza (for 2027)
- Join a Monthly Committee: We have monthly ongoing Committee planning teams that position our commercial district as the center of the community and lead the transformation of downtown. These committees include:
- Organization Committee: Meets the first Wednesday of the month online at 8:00 a.m.
- Promotions Committee: Meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month in a hybrid model (in-person and online) at 4:00 p.m.
- Business Development: Meets the 1st Thursday of the month in a hybrid format at 12:00 p.m. noon.
- Design & Public Spaces: Meets the last Thursday of the month at 4:00 p.m.
