Tucked along the Lansing Riverwalk in the heart of Downtown Lansing, the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum celebrates the legacy of automotive pioneer Ransom E. Olds, founder of Olds Motor Works and REO Motor Car Company, and an early innovator of assembly line production. Since opening at its current location in 1981, the museum has become a cornerstone of the region’s transportation history, showcasing a remarkable collection of vehicles, engines, and archival materials.
Visitors can explore rotating exhibits that highlight the evolution of the automobile and its global impact, alongside the extensive James D. Butt Archives, which preserve thousands of historical records and images. Beyond its exhibits, the museum serves as a gathering place for enthusiasts and the community, hosting clubs, car shows, and events that continue to honor Lansing’s automotive heritage.
Located at 240 Museum Drive, right next to Impression 5, we are proud to highlight the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum as our April Business of the Month. Stop in to see them and transport yourself into another world filled with legacy on wheels.
