Live Music Thursdays at Nelson

Summer has arrived, and Live Music Thursdays at Nelson are back in full swing! Bring a chair, gather your friends, and join us for this free outdoor concert series.

To kick off the season, we’re lucky to have four teaching artists from All of the Above Hip Hop Academy: The Player, Juice, 5amdamorning, & D. Jønes!

All of the Above Hip Hop Academy is a non-profit that consists of artists, educators, and advocates mentoring youth, supporting artistic expression, and serving communities as a hip hop cultural resource for youth development. They offer youth classes, workshops, and performance opportunities, with students learning from respected local hip-hop practitioners. As teaching artists at AOTA, The Player, Juice, 5amdamorning, & D. Jønes are multi-talented musicians bringing their skills as singers, rappers, producers, and DJs to Live Music Thursday, and we’re excited to have them!

As our largest collaborative exhibition yet, this group of seven talented artists explores linocut printmaking through bold, inventive methods, blending color, texture, and mixed media to extend their pieces beyond tradition. Metered street parking is available on Washington Square, free after 6pm. Nelson Gallery is also within walking distance to the North Grand Ramp.
