Capital City Dragon Boat Race

Capital City Dragon Boat Race

Join us for Dragon Boat 2026, a vibrant day of teamwork, celebration, and community impact at Rotary Park. This high-energy event brings together local businesses, organizations, and community members for an unforgettable dragon boat race experience along the Grand River.

Teams of paddlers will compete in a series of races while spectators enjoy music, food, and family-friendly activities along the riverfront. More than just a race, Dragon Boat 2026 is a powerful show of unity, resilience, and collective strength.

Proceeds from the event support the Women’s Center of Greater Lansing, helping provide counseling, financial empowerment, and essential support services to women and families in our community. Whether you’re paddling, cheering from shore, or sponsoring a team, your participation directly helps create pathways to safety, stability, and growth.

Each Team will consist of 22 members (20 paddlers, one drummer and one alternate). No more than 3 alternates will be allowed, making maximum team membership 24. All teams must have at least eight women paddling. An experienced Steersperson will be provided by the Dynamic Dragon Boat Racing LLC.

All participants of the Capital City Dragon Boat Race (CCDBR) must be 14 years of age or older.

Participants under 18 years of age MUST have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian in order to paddle on a team.

No prior paddling experience is required. Training, equipment, and encouragement are provided. All that’s needed is team spirit and a willingness to paddle together for a meaningful cause.

Mark your calendar and join us at Rotary Park on September 20, 2026, for a day that celebrates community, empowerment, and the power of working together
