
Silver Bells in the City set to dazzle downtown patrons, shoppers on Friday
Silver Bells in the City is back for the 38th year offering downtown Lansing visitors a variety of ways to celebrate the holiday season.
Lansing’s annual holiday kickoff event begins at 5 p.m. Friday with a retail market off Allegan Street and ends with both a drone light show and fireworks display.
“It’s a really exciting time and is a proud Lansing tradition that kicks off the holidays,” said Mindy Biladeau, director of special events and programming at Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority, which has planned the event since 2019.
People interested in watching the light parade, drone show, tree lighting and fireworks at home can tune in 6-8 p.m. to Fox 47 and Comcast Channel 12.
Officials encourage those traveling to the Capitol Building for the festivities to bundle up, wear comfortable shoes and create a parking plan for the event.
