Join us for the opening reception of ‘Working Hands’, a group exhibition of the work by Jessica Considine, Angela Larson, and Kelly O’Neill. An artist talk will take place at 5:30 PM.
These artists are the recipient of the Elizabeth Charles Fund which supports artists who are working in the social justice or DEI realm.Artist statement: “The core concept of our exhibition is a celebration of women welders and their unique creations. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind sculpture using steel or aluminum to create multi-media contemporary and abstract art. Most artists, using metal and welding as the foundation of their art, are men. It is unusual to find women in this field. Yet, we found our artistic inspiration in this trade. All 3 of us use metal as a foundation of our aesthetic, then add other mediums to tell a story or create a unique visual experience. Our 3-D work is conceptual and leverages recycled metal to inspire each piece. Both Kelly and Angela work in steel and clay. Kelly also adds fused glass to her pieces, while Jessica works in aluminum and copper and her jewelry background adds finesse to her sculptures. This sculptural exhibition demonstrates a diversity of skills and talents. Our friendship and respect for each other have helped each of us grow as artists.” Exhibition Dates: January 11 – February 25, 2023
